DESCRIPTION:John B. Cobb\, Jr. is an American philosopher\, theologian\, and environmentalist. He is often cited as one of the most important North American theologians of the twentieth century. Co-founder of the Center for Process Studies\, and Professor Emeritus of Claremont School of Theology and Claremont Graduate University\, Cobb is a preeminent scholar in the school of thought associated with the philosophy of Alfred North Whitehead and the notion of ecological civilization. He is author/ editor of more than fifty books\, and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Science–one of the nation’s highest honors.
