John Cobb & Friends Gathering: Eugene Shirley
March 12, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm PDT
March 12, 2024 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm PDT
Topic: Pando’s Civic Engagement Incubator for Sustainability
Presenters: Eugene Shirley
The invitation called it “the sustainability event of the year.” When Eugene Shirley, founder and director of Pando, sent us notice of the April 14 Pando Sustainability Awards we promptly invited him to bring us up to date on the activities of universities, middle schoolers, and common folks to promote and live into the Sustainability Goals of Los Angeles County. He says, “What I can talk about is our civic engagement model and how it emerged as a way of framing our work; what it means in terms of how we conduct our work; and what it implies re next steps. I’ll want to tie this into education — both formal and informal learning.”
While you’re thinking about Pando, check out Pando’s January interview, “Living in Strange Times,” with John Cobb and Mary Elizabeth Moore.
