Reading Difference and Repetition has been a perplexing enterprise, despite and/or perhaps due to my efforts to understand the text from a critical perspective, while trying to hold back final judgment on any elements and appreciating Deleuze’s thought for itself.
I have sought out secondary sources mostly to aid in my understanding of terminology, rather than to bolster any potential arguments I might raise on specific topics. These efforts have opened my thinking up to nuances of thought, memory and the unconscious, that I have not fully appreciated in the past.
Difference and Repetition has influenced my thinking to the extent that a poem was produced (attached to this thread). I’ve included prefatory quotes from D&R that are particularly pertinent to the writing of the poem.
