Jeremiah Rajanesan describes his talk:

This presentation is about the legacy of Amy Carmichael, the conventional missionary transformed into a mystic who embodied love as participation in the suffering of others by uplifting and empowering countless lives. Her poems and writings which reflect her deep love for Nature, the Immanence of God and her passion to instill these values in children still continue to guide the mission of the Dohnavur Fellowship, which is involved in empowering the marginalized along with responsible stewardship of ecological resources. The Fellowship is based in Dohnavur, India, and is shaped by Christian tradition.

Jeremiah Rajanesan was born in Dohnavur and previously worked as a mechanical engineer in the energy sector before leaving his career to serve the Dohnavur Fellowship. Since 1996, Jeremiah has been contributing across a wide spectrum—engineering, agriculture, animal husbandry, climate action, biodiversity, hospital administration and also spiritual leadership. A proponent of Franciscan simplicity and stewardship of Creation, a principle deeply valued by Amy Carmichael and Godfrey Webb-Peploe, he now serves as the CEO of the Dohnavur Fellowship, actively involved in the upcoming projects, playing a key role in stewarding the campus resources sustainably where nearly 1000 people reside, training the next generation of leaders and strengthening the “Common Life Religious Order.” He serves as the correspondent of the residential school for the missionaries’ children too. A self-taught musician, he has arranged and recorded many of Amy’s Nature songs. He is married to Vasanthakumari who is also from the Dohnavur Fellowship and they’re blessed with two children, Albert, a medical doctor and Tara, currently a student in Liberal Arts and Music.
