Program:
Process Explorations
Series Theme:
Alternative Futures
Session Topic:
Process Theology Alive in Church Life
Presenter(s):
Leslie King, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Waco

In this presentation, Leslie King will share almost 20 years of implementing process thought in congregational life. Given that administration, worship leadership, program development and pastoral care are four pillars of congregational leadership, she will examine the way Process Theology buoys up these traditional efforts. What’s more, Process Theology can a broad hermeneutic and spiritual discipline landscape for the congregational leader themselves. This will include the weekly tasks of reading scripture, supporting staff members, and strategic planning.

So, imagine exploring Process Theology from the “back stage” of congregational life as well as exploring it as an important mode as the church takes its “center stage” moments and presents itself to the wider world.

Participants are invited to bring their own experiences of congregational life, its challenges, joys and disappointments. Together we can stay mindful as we engage this broad subject with expedience and group mindfulness.
