Lynndal and Dr. McDaniel,
I too find myself “getting lost” in the terminology that is used in process philosophy. My approach is to “chew” slowly so that I can internalize the language. I do have a long way to go.

Kathleen,
Thanks for this posting. Being familiar with Susan Simard’s work on forests, I wondered the same thing as you have posted. Also, Peter Wohllenben’s book, “The Hidden Life of Trees,” is one that will cause most readers to consider carefully the consciousness issue as it pertains to trees.

Hello John,
A few years back I completed a masters degree in Futures Studies offered by the University of Houston. Certainly we talked, read and wrote about future(s). One common refrain in that program was “everything has a future,” and we proceeded accordingly. One future that we talked about was our preferred future, and then we were charged with creating the conditions that would lead to the realization of that future.
I think Eric would fit nicely in the futures program given what I read of his posting. We never discussed Whitehead in that program; we should have.

Benjamin,
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your post. My daughter has a masters degree in library science, but she has not done much with it.
I was fortunate to have taken a course at CIIS that was taught by Rick Tarnas and Stan Grof. Much of that course was related to astrology. I learned a great deal, though I have not thoroughly bought into astrology (sorry). I do however subscribe to the Archetypal Explorer, and each month I receive a transit report. Though there is a verbal description of the meanings of my transits, I still don’t understand them. But it’s fun.
Thanks for your bio.

Hello Evan,
Boone is great! We have been here since 1991. Periodically we talk about moving; then we cannot identify any other place that we want to live on a long-term basis.
My wife retired from AppState. She was a professor/dept. chair of management in the college of business. For what position did you apply? There are some excellent programs offered by Appstate.
