Leslie,
Interestingly I had the same thoughts/feelings about this video and was deeply moved as well at the exact moment you mentioned – when it was declared there would be no more talking. As yoga practitioner/instructor, I would love to see your class project if you would consider sharing!
- Jennifer ZechlinParticipant
Leslie, I too was struck by this particular slideshow.
I love the point you make here. I wonder too if the “mundane” you speak of becomes a form of beauty, especially when contrasted with life’s sufferings. I believe it is and in fact, becomes both a companion as well as redeemer of suffering but NOT a reliever. - Jennifer ZechlinParticipant
I’d like to create a 6 week class on the Four Hopes of Process Thought and Theology to be offered in my local (UCC) church.
The class would be open to all, both within the church and not as it would meet over Zoom.
My hope is that this introductory class may lead to others but it will be designed as a stand alone course.

As an amateur poet, I know I have experienced Process ideas emerge in my own writing, long before I knew they were Process ideas.
- Jennifer ZechlinParticipant
Jason,
I am NOT overly skilled with any of this yet but in regards to your 2nd question, could it be that we are linked to the past via our ancestors but that would include all that they experienced and prehended throughout their lives and all those entities experienced and prehended things and on and on it goes until basically we are connected to all that ever was before us as well as all that ever will be through in the same manner going “forward”? - Jennifer ZechlinParticipant
Yes, ok, I can understand that things like abstract numbers and emotion are non-temporal. Though even emotions wax and wane… or is it that our experience of emotions wax and wane? Hmmm…
I check out the web page as I think this is fascinating. It seems that certain natural laws are showing signs of change (climate change, for instance) whilst others are not and yet, if some are then the possibility for them all to be subject to change is greater – or so I would think.
- Jennifer ZechlinParticipant
Another question – what are the differences between Process Theology and Open Relational Theology?
- Jennifer ZechlinParticipant
I had the great pleasure of hearing Majoie Suchocki many years ago at the church I attended at the time – a pivotal experience in the way I understood my relationship with God!
I wanted to find out where I can access the Process and Faith community that you mentioned. This sounds like a fabulous source of information and tools I could use in my “professional” life.
- Jennifer ZechlinParticipant
That does make sense, yes.
But since this is true of all “things” in out universe how is it that all the many entities are different if the determining is all in how we become (and we all become via our experiences). Even humans and animals and tree who might experience things more similarly all become unique – though not separated from their experiencing – entities.
Now I fear *I* may not be making any sense!
- Jennifer ZechlinParticipant
Thank you Jay!
I will look into these resources. It fascinates me the way some Mormon doctrine lends itself quite well to process thinking while at the same time other parts seem in stark contrast. - Jennifer ZechlinParticipant
Thank you professor McDaniel.

This subjective experience and transition brings to mind Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey. Do you know if Campbell was influenced by Whitehead at all?
- Jennifer ZechlinParticipant
Thank you!
