I think one of the critical issues about appropriating and creatively transforming traditions is that we have to figure out a more inclusive and comprehensive worldview which can bridge those divides in modern time. With this more holistic worldview, then we could sense, choose and position both traditional legacies and modern achievements. Otherwise, I suspect that people would easily fall into endless debates. Here I see the value of process thought which may help a great deal.
