I got caught very deep in the weeds of Chapter 9 on “Propositions”… “indicative systems of relations” and all that good stuff. Though I appreciated the widening to the sweeping viewpoint of chapter 10, “Process”, and though I am now ‘weeding’ through the new chapter on “Feelings”, I was drawn back to one of my reliable guides to P&R, Elizabeth Kraus’s 1998 ‘Companion to P&R’ to see if she took on the ‘propositions’ bit of the garden. She did.
Now Kraus’s stuff is hardly a “popularization” of WH or P&R (does one exist?) Hers is very dense going most of the time. But I found that the attempt to comprehend her explanation of the material on “Propositions” tied it more usefully to prior discussions of “perception” as well as to the material on “judgment” – and gave me new insights into things like “indicative systems” ! I have uploaded here a short file with her 5 pages on the topic (pdf format).
