Rev. Dr. James Lawson will discuss Revolutionary Nonviolence: Organizing for Freedom, the title of his book whose publication by University of California Press is dated February, 2022. The book chronicles Lawson’s work as a trainer of students for lunch counter sit-ins and Freedom Rides during Civil Rights struggles of the 1960s, as well as his work while pastor of Holman United Methodist Church in Los Angeles supporting worker and immigrant rights movements in Los Angeles.
