Thank you Bill – This post is a quite a flow of beauty between the Daniel’s catalyst and your poetic response. I felt the tightening in my own throat as I “crossed” with you. A deep experience for me of the complex relationships to the self. That is a cornerstone of being fully present within a landscape of religious thoughts.

Really beautiful integrations. Thanks for expanding the discussion toward Stengers work. ANW work on Extensive Contiuum is coming up for me as I read your post. Particularly his attention presentational immediacy on page 81 of PR (corrected edition). “For organic theory, the most primitive perception is ‘feeling the body as functioning.’ this is a feeeling of the world in the past; it is the inheritance of the world as a complex of feeling; namely it is the feeling of derived feelings. The later, sophisticated perception is ‘feeling the contemporary world.’ Even this presentational immediacy begins with sense-presentation of the contemporary body. The body, however, is only a peculiarly intimate bit of the world.”

Good morning Bill – Thanks for the warm reply. My husband has cars and cards (mostly Baseball but so many…many graded and collectible cards). He makes me a better human. We’ll miss you in the evening sessions!

  • in reply to: Tom Gates #25708

Thank you Tom – Are you referring to Whitehead’s Process and Reality as a book you hope to read one day? If so, you are with the right group. There was a wonderful reading group of this book a couple of years ago!

  • in reply to: Chris Hughes, Calgary, Alberta #25707

Thank you Chris – So great to be with you in this adventure! Far from being stuck in the mud – it all sounds like a strong grounding for the journey. Deconstruction is not easy but can be very rewarding when one is constructing from the pieces and parts!

  • in reply to: A video clip for fun #21845

Thank you for these reflections. It occurs to me that the movie clip provided is best understood in the context of the way the young adult children are launched in the remainder of the movie. Tradition or parental expectation is often the starting place for the launch. The launch of young adults introduces varying degrees of novelty. Occasionally in the clip, the father lets slip that tradition can be less than well grounded.
